The UMJC has a broad vision to support congregations and ministries around the world.

We are living in remarkable times. In the past two generations, Israel has been restored as a sovereign Jewish state and millions of Jews have returned from around the world, huge strides have been made in Jewish-Christian reconciliation, and multitudes of Jewish people have become followers of Yeshua the Messiah.
Here is a new opportunity for you to be a participant in these momentous events.

Just as Yeshua first appeared among the Jewish people, so the movement for Messiah began among the Jewish people. Today, we are seeing this indigenous Jewish movement for Yeshua being reborn, and Yeshua again having a place among the Jewish people, as well as in many individual Jewish hearts. Together, we are welcoming Messiah home today, and preparing the way for the future welcome that ushers in his return: "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord'" (Matt. 23:39). |
Our generation is seeing a prophetic move of God's Spirit
among the Jewish people, as myriads of Jews come to faith in Jesus, or Yeshua,
as the promised Messiah. What are the implications of this movement for the church
at large? Why should Christians embrace and support it?

Basic Statement
The Union of Messianic Jewish
Congregations (UMJC) envisions Messianic Judaism as a movement of Jewish
congregations and groups committed to Yeshua the Messiah that embrace the
covenantal responsibility of Jewish life and identity rooted in Torah, expressed
in tradition, and renewed and applied in the context of the New Covenant. Messianic
Jewish groups may also include those from non-Jewish backgrounds who have a
confirmed call to participate fully in the life and destiny of the Jewish
people. We are committed to embodying this definition in our constituent
congregations and in our shared institutions.

|
The Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC) appreciates the
efforts of numerous denominations to address issues of peace and
justice, including anti-Semitism, over the years. The recent move by
some groups toward selective divestment and against the Israeli
security barrier, however, appear to promote a one-sided and highly
politicized view of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which can only
serve to further polarize the parties involved. |

Unanimously affirmed by the Delegates July 15, 2001: The Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC) supports the existence of the Jewish homeland in Israel. The UMJC supports the right of the nation of Israel to exist within safe and secure borders, and the right of all Israelis to freely live and travel without the threat of terrorism.

|
The UMJC is a family of congregations working together to initiate, strengthen, and multiply like-minded groups. For nearly 25 years, we have been instrumental in establishing congregations that honor Yeshua as Messiah and maintain the rich traditions of Jewish worship and family life, in such diverse Jewish communities as Pittsburgh, Hartford, CT, Boca Raton, FL, and Almaty, Kazakhstan, in Central Asia. With the help of friends and supporters like you, we are continuing this effort as this grass-roots movement for Jesus as Messiah spreads among the Jewish people throughout the world.
